Please don’t put off your smear test

Your smear test could save your life. Please, don’t put off this important test.

We understand that ladies are often reluctant to attend for Cervical Screening (smear test).

Amanda, Tracy, Jodie and Louise, our Practice Nurses, are friendly, professional; and they understand that you may feel nervous.

Although your appointment is booked for 15 minutes, the smear test itself will only take 2 to 3 minutes; the door will be securely locked, a privacy curtain is used, and you will not be rushed.

Please tell the nurse if you feel anxious or worried at any point during your appointment; they will be able to reassure you and put you at ease.

It is extremely important that all women who are eligible, take up the invitation for Cervical Screening; and we urge you to consider having this test, which saves approximately 5,000 lives each year.
