On these dates, all surgeries in the area are closed to patients from 12.30 pm. This allows all clinical staff to attend centralised training on one afternoon a month.
During these afternoons, telephones are transferred to the Out of Hours Service, for those issues which cannot wait until the following morning.
Patients are also encouraged to ring 111 if they require advice.
